Words of ART images are produced using state of the art technology with specially formulated inks to give excellent colour stability, exceptional lightfastness, excellent colour gradations and improved gradient characteristics. All our Words of ART pictures are printed using the "giclée" method (pronounced "zhee-clay"). Giclée prints have stunning continuous tones and magnificent colour saturation because there are around 3000 minute droplets of ink per square inch.
Our combination of fine art quality printing, highly pigmented inks and textured PH balanced paper is crucial in producing unbelievable quality images with a lightfast expectancy of 75 years. This lifetime, is in fact, longer than that of an original water colour. Added to this, our specially selected printer works for some of the Europe's leading artists and is one of a few fine art printers who were selected by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to reproduce some of Van Gogh's work.
If you are considering a name print from another retailer, do ask how they are producing their prints and pictures before you buy. Many companies are creating beautiful images using non-fine art printers and, whilst they look lovely now, the pictures may fade very quickly.
PAPER
The paper we use is a thick, heavyweight (300gsm), acid-free, 100% cotton ‘hot press’ fine art paper with a textured surface. The paper has been optimised to give the highest resolution and colour saturation possible. This fine art paper is not only acid and chlorine free, it is also pH buffered with calcium carbonate for true archival qualities.
MOUNTING
All our name pictures (whether single or double line names) are supplied fully mounted using high quality, bevel cut co-ordinated double mounts. Our mounts are professionally cut to fit the precise dimensions of each different sized print. Our single letter prints are either sold in a single cream mount and frame or in a smaller frame unmounted.
FRAMING
We recommend that you purchase your Words of ART picture mounted but unframed. Pictures are available in frames, however there are additional costs for the frame and the extra weight when packing and shipping. Both our mounting and framing is carried out by local craftspeople who have over decades of combined framing experience.
